SHORT STORY SWEATER KIT

This listing is for the Short Story Sweater Kit consisting of YIN YANG worsted weight yarn.  Select your size from the size chart and the color combination you prefer from the swatches (MC is main color and CC is contrast color).  

Your kit will contain the correct number of skeins for your size in the colors corresponding to the swatch you select.  Note that the pattern is not included.  See the Where to Get the Pattern tab for the pattern link.

Why We Chose this Pattern:

The Short Story Sweater was designed by Susanne Sommer.  Our sample is knit in YIN YANG worsted weight using colorways Have Your Cake (CC) and Eat It Too (MC).

We chose this pattern because YIN YANG inverted colorway yarn is perfect for color blocking. The Short Story Sweater will look great in any of our inverted pairings. We love how it turned out in “Have Your Cake” and “Eat It Too,” but definitely check out all of the kit options we’ve put together for you.

PATTERN DETAILS:

Short Story is a two-tone color-blocked sweater, knit in a seamless modular sideways construction, starting with a provisional cast-on at the color-change to the right of the neckline, and worked towards the cuffs. 
The hem is knit concurrently as a double-knit edge. The cuffs and neckline are finished with twisted ribbing.

Needles:

US 7 / 4.5 mm circular needles, 80-100 cm / 32-40“ long;

1 DPN in the same size (for hem set-up & 3-needle bind-off);

optional: DPNs in same size for sleeves (or size needed to obtain gauge and optimal drape)

US 6 / 4.0 mm circular needles or DPNs for neckline and cuffs

Gauge:

20 sts / 26 rows = 10 cm / 4“ in Stockinette st (with the larger needle size)

Measured after blocking. Gauge has an influence on the size of your finished piece and your yardage
